Electric Handpieces

There are basically two types of handpieces: air-turbine and electric. Air-driven handpieces are the typical dental 'drills' that make you cringe when you hear the high pitched 'whine'. Electric motors are much quieter. They also are kinder to your teeth because they have more torque and less vibration which provides smoother tooth preparation during procedures like fillings and crowns.
